The Samsung Gear S3 Frontier could fall into many categories on our site from coolest watch (like our name) to best watch (also like our name).
The Samsung Gear S3 Frontier features:
- Always on watch face and distinctive steel bezel that you can rotate to access
apps and notifications. - Text, call and get notifications directly from your Bluetooth connected watch
- Make payments with the Samsung Pay almost anywhere you swipe to tap a credit card.
- Built-in GPS keeps track of your activity and makes it easy to share your location.
- Military grade performance; resists water, dust, extreme temperature and occasional drops.
This watch is surprisingly tough. Not to the extent of our tactical watches but still very respectable for a smartwatch.
Set up is a breeze and not as frustrating as some smartwatches. When set up is hard you really have to wonder WHY it is called a smartwatch. If they are smart they should almost set themselves up. The Samsung Gear S3 Frontier is simple to set up, so maybe IT IS a smartwatch!
It is a little big, depending on your size that may or may not be a problem. I am not saying you have to be a giant, an average size is fine. Just don’t expect a petite little watch. Few smartphones with any battery life and functionality will be small.
This watch as some great speakers. Surprising for a watch.
The watch comes with some good watch faces. You can always download more but it is nice when it comes with faces you will probably like. The faces help make this a cool watch for men or a cool watch for women. There are options that work for everyone.
Answering and rejecting calls works well which is especially good if you are in a car.
Speedometer, altimeter and GPS work well. Again, small watch with great performance.
Screen is bright and clear. Great resolution, again for such a tiny device. Makes you wonder what next year’s models will be like.
You can control your music through the watch and play on your phone speakers.
We chose this model because of its more rugged look. We have this in our smartphone section but this could be in our men’s section as a cool watch for men. It could also be in the luxury section if you don’t mind a smart phone in the luxury section. Personally we do not see smartphones as luxury. Not that they are not nice, we just have a little different set of standards for a luxury watch. However if you choose the classic version of the watch it is a little more classy, mainly because of the band.
Choice is yours.
